Cherrie Robinson
Hi I'm cherrie Robinson from Newton aycliffe i've been hairdressing since the age of 14, starting out as a Saturday/holidays girl at saks redworth Hall where I quickly learnt all aspects of hairdressing from shampooing to applying colours to customer service etc.
I also had an intressed in the beauty industry, so I made the decision to leave and go to college for hair and beauty, I soon learnt hair was my passion so after achieving nvq level 2 in both trades I followed my passion.
The next 22 years of my life was spent in elite hair and beauty in bishop Auckland, which was a brand new salon in which I helped to build, grow and nurture. Over the years I built up my knowledge and technical experience with inhouse training along with training coarses mainly Tony and guy and l'oreal. The most challenging but most rewarding for myself was achieving the colour specialist degree in the l'oreal academy in London, so I do like a challenge when it comes to colour, get the old brain going haha. I worked up within the ranks of elite from junior stylist up to manager of 20 odd wonderful talented people. I've always loved working as part of a team bouncing of each other.
Customer service has always been high on my agenda and attended many talks and work shops to keep it at the highest standard.
Then in my late 30s along came my 2 children so I took a step back in my career and made my family my priority and only returned part time and now have the best of both worlds.
After the closer of elite I made the leap in this uncertain world to become self employed and join the fabulous team at empire in Bishop Auckland where my passion lives on in my work.

Gabrielle Donohue
Hi I’m Gabrielle!
I started my hairdressing journey straight after school at the age of 16 and have always been at Empire Hair & Beauty. I’m new to the salon floor as a junior stylist as I’ve recently qualified in my level 2 hairdressing and have moved onto level 3, I’m hoping to complete my barbering also! My favourite aspect of hairdressing has to be occasion hair after completing a course in Essex. I also love long hair styling and colouring, especially balayage. I am also a HD brow stylist too after completing the course in Leeds. I can’t wait to continue my hairdressing journey and see where it takes me.

Lucy Roberts
Hi I’m Lucy
I started my hairdressing journey in my last year of school being a Saturday girl! I loved this as it gave me a taste of what I would expect being an apprentice!
2 years down the line and I’m level 2 qualified loving all things short hair and colour transformations 😍
I then had a year out from empire gaining all things extension training and a level 3 qualification in hair and barbering! I love hair extensions especially the micro ring weft and mainly focus on this method!
I am now back at empire being a self employed stylist focusing on colour and extensions! I love working at empire as we are a family and never feels like work being there!
If you need any hair inspiration then people message or look on all social media’s for your hair goals 😍😍

Julie Tinkler
Hi..
Thanks for stopping bye!!🙌
My hairdressing journey started from leaving school, gaining an apprenticeship at Saks Bishops Auckland and training under the award winning international consultant Julie Eldrett.
Leaving Saks I went onto Freelancing but only for a short time as I found I loved being in the salon, and this took me back into Saks at Hexham.
I then had my children and decided I needed to work back in my home town, I then worked at Hairhaus for some time.
My journey then took me into owning my own salon which I opened in 2007, Lush hair and beauty, I enjoyed my time owning my own salon, but with family commitments I sold the salon to Gary Mitchel after 7 years who relaunched the salon as Empire Hair and beauty.
Which brings me to where I am today working as a stylist at Empire Hair and beauty.
I love what I do, it says it all after being in the industry for 31 years.
There’s nothing like the buzz of making your client love her or himself. Customer care is a must and I pride myself in this. I would say I am a lover of cutting short hair but I do enjoy all aspects of my job.
Hope to meet you soon
